I have not said that religion without power makes no changes in a man’s life, only that it makes no fundamental difference. Water may change from liquid to vapor and still be fundamentally the same. So powerless religion may put a man through many surface changes and leave him exactly what he was before. Right there is where the snare lies. The changes are in form only, they are not in kind. Behind the activities of the non-religious man and the man who has received the gospel without power lie the very same motives. An unblessed ego lies at the bottom of both lives, the difference being that the religious man has learned better to disguise his vice. His sins are refined and less offensive than before he took up religion, but the man himself is not a better man in the sight of
God. He may indeed be a worse one, for always God hates artificiality and pretense. Selfishness still throbs like an engine at the center of the man’s life. True, he may learn to “redirect” his selfish impulses, but his woe is that self still lives unrebuked and even unsuspected within his deep heart. He is a victim of religion without power.

There is one catch, we can’t ask for selfish reasons. We must have a concern for the wellbeing of others, especially those who hurt us. As Jesus said when asked about how many times we should forgive someone, 7 times 70, or Each and Every time.

Is it worth it to be unforgiving, uncaring and selfish?

What really defiles us? Is it what we eat, drink or put in our body? Maybe it is what is already in us. The intent of our heart, our desires, or our selfish motives! From the word of God in Mark 7:14-15 we can hear what Jesus has to say about it.
And when he had called all the people [unto him], he said unto them, “Hearken unto me every one [of you], and understand: There is nothing from without a man, that entering into him can defile him: but the things which come out of him, those are they that defile the man.”

Our Father is a gracious and loving God; he gives to all our needs. If then we are blessed with wealth let us give thanks to him. Let us be faithful with those riches and be the help to those God sends us. The profit of the earth is for all. Not to be stored unto selfishness. I think the Word of God is clear about it study the scriptures and become a faithful steward.

Be thankful and faithful; not boastful!

Jesus spoke these words before he was sacrificed for the sins of this world. What does it mean to deny your self? Just that, not be concerned about the things of the world. Like how many things can you get or how much money do you have. These things will take care of themselves if you learn to put God first. Daily!!! Seek his way to live in this world. What can any man add to his life? How many days can he extend his life? Weather you admit it or not God is real. And he loves you. This is why we all must deny our self and follow after Jesus. He left us a help and guide in the Holy Spirit; all we have to do is ask. As the word says “we have not because we ask not.” There is one catch, we can’t ask for selfish reasons. We must have a concern for the well being of others, especially those who hurt us. As Jesus said when asked about how many times we should forgive someone, 7 times 70, or Each and Every time.

Forgiveness is difficult if not impossible in this case. If and when they take back everything they’ve said and done to include the untold millions in damages across America and the deaths they’ve caused. But I suppose that’s up to Trump.
