Glad to hear I'm not the only one. Was reading in the "psalms of Solomon " where it described their iniquities were committed underground. How sick has the world been for how long? The fact is 1200 sects of Christianity came together to fight to get their beliefs in the Bible. Sadly many did not leave that meeting alive. I think there is great wisdom in the apocrypha and other texts, and see no problem with getting all the information there is about God. We do need to use discernment, but again glad to see a friend going down the same rabbit hole.

I would imagine someone who studied all religions would have a concrete opinion, but would wisely keep it to themselves. My wife Judy had a dozen different versions, all created with Bible study courses in mind, and her mind literally hummed during comparisons between them. I feel her personal journal where she discussed things with God gave her the most insight and direction. 20 years of group and individual studies did not produce the visible results I saw in her as compared to her last 3 years of journaling, not by a long shot. She has graduated to a much higher level of study. She occasionally shared her opinions on the versions, sometime frustrated, but never discouraged. Also, a sudoku master and a medical transcriptionist, so numbers and language were like sheet music to her. Discernment was key.
