My rescue birdie has Avian Bird Pox so I can’t release her back into the wild until she heals. It is very contagious to other birds. She’s having fun in my bedroom flying around and sitting on my cell phone and laptop. I leave her bird cage door open. She’s a character.

I rescued a baby finch today that fell out of a tree in Devine, Tx. My friend brought it to me in San Antonio. When it is ready, she will take it back to Devine and release it near the tree it fell from so it can reunite with its parents. Rescuing dogs and baby birds are two of my passions.

I just found this in my closet. I refused a retirement party, but the teachers gave me this framed funny saying about me. Notice the "Let's Go Brandon". I had a student in my class named Brandon and he was always lagging behind, so it gave me the opportunity to say Let's go Brandon all year long.
